The aim of the project is to create a meaningful refuge for learning through the use of low-tech construction methods and readily available components across South Africa. Repurposed shipping containers serve as the thermal mass of the structure, positioned to create classrooms and service zones with natural light and ventilation. Collectively, this modular assembly offers a cost-effective, scalable alternative to conventional brick-and-mortar crèche designs and can be rapidly deployed in a wide range of informal environments.
